The actual idea of jumping up and transforming doesn't work here. It does have a "push' n go" gears, but thats not much. But the toy itself is twice as large (2-Up) than its Transformer cousin! Also there is a addition to the tail which forms a nosecone in ship form. Now Top Spin actually looks like a spaceship! The piece is marked with a "© 1984" on it's bottom, and possibly is from the toy line "Transfromation Fighter Force". I did have one earlier which I sold, that had its gun, which was blue. There also seems to be a later issue of this Top Spin, might be from the same series.
